In the Waiting Room: Trusting God Between Promises

I remain in awe of God’s goodness! Since Re-Imagining Contentment was published in March, I’ve been wrapped in a wave of support, encouragement, and love that I don’t take for granted. Thank you—from the bottom of my heart—for every prayer, post, purchase, and kind word! You’ve helped breathe life into this message, and I’m so grateful to God for trusting me with this assignment!
If I’m honest, this journey has stretched me. A few days ago, I had a medical appointment. I was processed very quickly and escorted to a waiting room in the back. I waited and waited, and slowly, I began to feel forgotten. I started to think about my book. I’ve learned so much about the publishing process—lessons I didn’t even know I needed. There have been moments of frustration: chasing leads, following up, researching, networking, and waiting for doors to open that I thought would swing wide. I’ve asked God more than once, “Now what?” And in that question, I was gently led back to my own words. I’ve been rereading Re-Imagining Contentment not as the author, but as the reader. I’ve been revisiting the steps I wrote with conviction, now needing them with fresh urgency. Isn’t it something how God will use your own voice to minister back to you?
One step in particular has been my help lately: Reject all thoughts not in line with God! When discouragement whispers, I silence it with truth. When impatience creeps in, I remind myself that God’s timing is perfect! When comparison tries to steal my joy, I return to the Word and reclaim my peace. I have to trust Him in the Waiting Room and trust that His timing is perfect! I have to be obedient during this season. Has anyone else been in the waiting room?
The Bible tells us in II Corinthians 10:5, We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Isaiah 26:3, You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Galatians 6:9, Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
I don’t know what you are waiting for, but we can trust that He knows what we need, and we have to trust His timing! I encourage you to rest in His Waiting Room with me. Let’s not move ahead of Him! I know it is tempting to try to create something on your own, but let Him order your steps. He will reveal our next! The nurse finally called me, and my doctor gave me the time I needed to discuss all my lab work, and he asked about my book and my job!
As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, to heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! God has so much in store for each of us, and because of this, we will abide in Him in 2025!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
