Last week we talked about God as the Potter and we are the clay. We also discussed how throughout the Bible, God is so eloquently mentioned as the Potter and that we are created in His image for a specific purpose. During my study time, I couldn’t help but go back to Jeremiah 18:1-3, This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. Jeremiah obeyed when he was given instructions from the Lord.
As I look back over my life, I must tell you – I have not always been obedient. I was always a church girl but was considered “hardheaded” by my mom. This was because sometimes I didn’t do exactly what she said when she said it. Fast forward to my early years as an adult, my track record was still the same. I often found myself taking my time to respond in various situations or when I was given instructions by God, I would try to do it my way. I would modify, take a different approach, or follow up with others for validation before taking action.
After many setbacks, disappointments, headaches, and sleepless nights, I turned to God and realized my disobedience was the source of my discontentment. I know this isn’t a popular subject now, but we have to start listening and obeying God if we want to be in His perfect will. Can God trust you to obey Him? Are you following His instructions? The word tells us in John 14:15, If you love me, you will keep my commandments. Isaiah 1:19, If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. Luke 6:46, Why do you call me Lord, Lord; and not do what I tell you?
Let’s start following the instructions of the Lord and stop being hardheaded! As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! I am so thankful to each of you for joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2022!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
