A Remarkable Choice!

At one point, there were 27 democratic candidates running for President. During that time, I was undecided about my selection. Although Senator Kamala D. Harris was smart, highly qualified, composed, compassionate, tough, focused, energetic, and well-able to lead the country, I was still window shopping. But now that she has been selected to serve as Joe Biden’s running mate, as Vice President of the United States of America, I am all in!

Senator Harris, an outstanding member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and a Howard University graduate, stands on the shoulders of so many great women in politics from Shirley Chisholm, Barbara Jordan, to Fannie Lou Hamer, that paved the way for this Remarkable time in history. It is not a coincidence that Senator Harris was chosen to serve in this capacity as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment that gave women the right to vote. This divine plan was orchestrated by God, for I am reminded in Esther 4:14, For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Now is her time and it is your time as well! I am not sure how she felt when she had to discontinue her run as President, but I am sure she was disappointed and questioned God – anyone would have. But God had prepared a place for her and He has prepared a place for each of us. We can all find comfort in knowing that God is with us. It is time to turn the page in our lives if we don’t have contentment and it’s time to turn the page regarding our political landscape.

Let’s celebrate this Remarkable choice and commemorate this anniversary by voting! So many people fought, sacrificed and died for this right.
