During my prayer time, I was reminded that I needed to go back and talk about Jeremiah and why he is called the “weeping prophet.” I also wanted to discuss the consequences of sin and the saving grace of our Lord. Jeremiah was charged with sharing the news that God would bring judgment on His people because of their terrible actions. Yet, after warning the people, Jeremiah received tremendous opposition and begin to weep for the nation. Although God kept His promise to judge them, He later restored them. Many of you may be able to relate to how Jeremiah was faithful to his calling but suffered immensely because of it. You may be dealing with many obstacles although you are trying hard to do God’s will or you may find yourself in a situation so far outside of God’s will that you may be thinking “I need to get myself together.” Speaking from experience, you can’t do it alone. God is ready to embrace you with His unfailing love and forgiveness.
We can find comfort and security knowing that according to Jeremiah 18:5-8, Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned.
But, if you keep reading from verse nine, you will see the consequences of disobedience. There are consequences to our choices when we try to do life without going to the Potter first. Yet, you can of course start doing right and repent of your actions to God. No matter what you may have done, God is committed in His unfailing love for us! Please don’t fall for any trick of the devil in trying to convince you that you are not worthy of forgiveness and love!
God is ready and available to shower you with His unfailing love and His grace! All we have to do is cry out for forgiveness and He is able to give us everything we need for this journey in life. Remember, nothing in your past can keep you from God’s unfailing love! As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! I am so thankful to each of you for joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2022!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
