Before coronavirus, my little cousin Amber had a beautiful baby shower! It was a Remarkable Experience! The shower was held at the Youth Center in Greenwood. I have attended so many events at this location dating back to high school dances to family reunions but this particular event truly transformed the location. The decorations, food, fellowship and love were amazing! Fast forward now to what I see during quarantine and it is four walls within my home (different rooms but still four walls).

I asked the Lord during my prayer time what should I see; therefore, I read countless scriptures about vision (this is year 2020 – all about our vision). I also went back to the song, The Little Drummer Boy and was reminded that we need to keep our eyes and ears in tuned to the Christ that we serve. It is easy to social distance for a week or two, but now starting week six, you have to decide that you will trust God, stay focused on His will for your life and see yourself coming out of this better!

Now we have to be willing and open to seeing the possibility in everything. For example, today is my mom’s birthday and initially, I was a little down because we had a white party last year and now we can only do FaceTime or make phones calls. After I finished my call, I was able to remember the good time last year but praised God that she is still here with us and the sound of her laughter made me happy!

Amber’s baby shower helped me to see the transformative power that we have. Because the Bible tells us in Romans 12:2, Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is –his good, pleasing and perfect will. We have the power as children of God to transform our thinking and start preparing for our bright future. After all, we owe it to baby Kross to do so!

Happy Birthday Mamma Lo!
