Thank you, Pastor Leroy Williams, and my Jones Chapel M.B. Church family, for the opportunity to share the Word of the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The message was entitled Know Your Position, from Deuteronomy 28:13: The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. I thank God for the message and for how well it was received. What a blessing!
On Friday, June 5, I found myself looking at life from a different angle. A car ran through a stop sign and hit us. My vehicle was totaled, but praise God, everyone is okay. Still, accidents in life have a way of making us pay attention to things we might normally overlook. I started questioning the direction I was traveling, the place where the impact happened, the position of the vehicle, and what I could have done differently that day. What stayed with me was not only that an accident happened, but also how much position mattered. If the car had been positioned a little differently, if I had been sitting differently, or if the impact had come from another direction, the outcome could have been different.
That experience caused me to think not only about the position of a car in an accident, but also about the different positions we find ourselves in throughout life. Sometimes we are positioned in pain, sometimes in uncertainty, sometimes in transition, and sometimes in places we did not choose. But the question is not only, “What position am I in?” The deeper question is, “Do I know who I am while I am in this position?”
To help us know our position, I shared the following points:
1. Your Position Is Declared by God
2. Your Position Requires Alignment with God
3. Your Position Changes Your Perspective
The Bible also reinforces the following: Romans 8:37, Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. I Corinthians 15:57, But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Proverbs 3:6, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make straight your paths.
This tells us that we should trust God regardless of our position. We must trust Him, you do not have to face life from beneath. You can operate from above with authority and victory. Don’t allow your current position to dictate how you operate. Start today by knowing your position. We must choose to live from God’s perspective, trusting that contentment is still possible even in challenging seasons. Remember, you are not alone on this journey. We will get through this season together. Thank you for your unwavering love, prayers, and support. As we stand firm in our trust in God in 2026, let us unite in prayer for transformed hearts, healing across our land, and an unshakable faith that God will guide us through every challenge we face.
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
