Multiple Sclerosis Awareness: It Is NOT the End of the World

In 2009, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). At that moment, I truly believed it was the end of my world. I could not imagine how I would continue to live a productive life, and more importantly, I did not want to be pitied. I simply wanted to be understood. I feared becoming a burden to my family. If you know any of my family members, that concern should have been the least of my worries.
Fast forward to 2026. It has been almost 17 years since my diagnosis, and today I am boldly advocating for a cure, increased support, deeper understanding, and education about the many faces and unpredictable nature of this disease. March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, and I was honored to participate in the MS Walk held in Greenwood, Mississippi, on March 14, 2026. It was an amazing and inspiring event, and I look forward to continuing to lend my support in any way I can.
Because MS affects everyone differently, you may see individuals walking without assistance, while others use a cane, a wheelchair, or a scooter. Despite these differences, everyone wants the same thing, and that is to be seen, to be understood, and to be valued.
I believe in the healing power of God. I have witnessed it firsthand and seen how my life has been transformed. I never imagined that MS would become my platform, but today I pray that my voice is helping to break down barriers while offering support, encouragement, and hope, not only within the MS community but to anyone who may need it.
The Bible reminds us: in II Corinthians 1:3–4, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Psalm 139:14, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Ephesians 2:10, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Let us work together to support those in need within our community. Use your voice, your gifts, and your talents to meet a need in this world. No matter what you may be facing, it is not the end of the world! You can do this, and you will get through it.
We must choose to live from God’s perspective, trusting that even now, contentment is still possible. Remember, you are not alone on this journey. We will get through this season together. Thank you for your unwavering love, prayers, and support. As we stand firm in our trust in God in 2026, let us unite in prayer for transformed hearts, healing across our land, and an unshakable faith that God will guide us through every challenge we face.
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
