Trusting God Is Not An Option

Last year, our theme was Abiding in God’s Love—learning to rest in His presence and draw strength from His unfailing care. This year, the call is clear: Trust Him. Not in theory, but in the trenches of real life—when headlines scream uncertainty, when the noise of culture threatens to drown out His voice, and when circumstances seem to contradict His promises. I love the reminder by Rev. Marissa Farrow during the 2026 Joint New Year’s Revival that “I have the DNA of a Conqueror!” This was just what I needed!
I know and understand this struggle firsthand. In 2025, I released a new book—a moment of celebration—while processing grief, disappointment, and my agency was under attack. Friends and colleagues faced reductions in force. It felt like living in two worlds: one of progress and purpose, and another of pain and loss. How do you balance these contradictions? How do you trust God when everything around you says, “Give up” or “Hide” because you feel completely overwhelmed!
Here’s what I’ve learned—and what I want to share with you today:
1. Silence the Noise
The world thrives on distraction. Every headline, every alert, every opinion fights for your attention. But trust grows in stillness. Make space to hear God’s voice above the chaos. Turn down the volume of fear and tune in to His Word. Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)
2. Anchor Your Heart in His Character
Circumstances change. God does not! When life feels unstable, remind yourself who He is—faithful, sovereign, loving. Trust isn’t blind optimism; it’s confidence in the One who holds the universe and your future in His hands. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
3. Embrace the Contradictions
Faith doesn’t erase tension; it thrives in it. You can celebrate victories while walking through valleys. You can grieve losses and still believe for miracles. Trust means saying, “Lord, I don’t understand, but I choose You anyway.” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. — Proverbs 3:5-6
4. Guard Against Distractions
Not every opportunity is from God. Not every crisis deserves your energy. Ask Him daily: “What is Your perfect will for my life today?” Then align your steps with His answer, even when the world pulls you in a hundred different directions. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. — Matthew 6:33
5. Live the Theme: Trust Him
This year, let’s make trust our anthem. Not passive waiting, but active confidence. Not fear-driven reactions, but faith-filled decisions. When chaos comes—and it will—choose to stand firm. Choose to believe that His plan is greater than any headline, any attack, any contradiction. Please don’t allow worry to consume you! That is not helpful and is not from God. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. — Isaiah 26:3
You are not alone on this journey! I’ve walked through seasons that tested everything I believed, and I’ve seen God prove Himself faithful every time. He will do the same for you. We will get through this season! Thank you for your unwavering love and support! As we step into 2026, let’s unite in prayer—for hearts transformed, healing across our land, and an unshakable trust in God to guide us through every challenge. No matter what headlines scream or circumstances bring, we choose to stand firm in our faith!
God’s plans for us are greater than anything we face, and because of this, we will trust Him completely in 2026!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
